Originally specializing in business travel only, our team of travel professionals has grown over the years. Today, our service areas include Meetings & Incentives, Cruises & Tours, Vacation Travel, and Study Tours for students of all ages. We are especially proud of our membership with Virtuoso, an exclusive network of travel agencies, open to less than 1% of travel consultants in the Americas. The Virtuoso connection opens doors and guarantees value, giving us a global presence that allows us to offer premium travel options and savings to our customers.

Buck and Ann Royal founded Royal Travels in Houston in1973, combining Buck’s business expertise and Ann’s knowledge of the travel industry. From 1973 to 1982, Royal Travels grew to become the second largest travel agency in Houston with annual sales in excess of twenty million dollars. The agency was sold in 1982. Buck and Ann planned to retire from the business.

In March 1984, however, Charlene (Charlie) Broyles, one of the original Royal Travels staff members in Houston, urged Buck to reopen Royal Travels, this time in an Austin location, focusing on the emerging high tech business sector. When that decision was made, Charlie combined her exuberant personality and commitment to customer service with her expertise in corporate travel to set in motion the rebirth of Royal Travels in Austin. She assembled an outstanding, loyal staff (several from the Houston days), and continued to provide the same quality service for which Royal Travels was known. The company has experienced steady growth under Charlie’s leadership.

After Buck’s death in 1997, Ann returned to active participation in the agency, and joined Charlie in expanding Royal Travels’ services to meet the changing needs of today’s travelers. The hours of operation were increased to provide better customer service, and the emerging technology in the travel industry is continually integrated into the operation.
